“To stimulate knowledge of and support of the preservation of natural beauty around us”
The Kirtland Garden Club was organized in 1976 and meets on third Mondays year round to hear speakers on gardening topics at Houghton Lake Public Library or go on planned trips in warmer months. A monthly business meeting follows the presentation, with refreshments.
We maintain two perennial gardens, one at the CRAF Center in Roscommon and the other at the Houghton Lake Public Library. We also prepare for a plant sale at the Roscommon Art Festival on the second Saturday in July and host a garden tour in mid-summer.
Kirtland Garden Club members enjoy learning from each other! We vary in experience from beginners to experienced Master Gardeners.
Meetings begin with a seminar, a speaker, or workshop pertaining to various subjects of the natural world at the Houghton Lake Public Library, followed by the business meeting and refreshments.
Notices of our meetings can be found here on our website, in the Houghton Lake Resorter and on the Facebook page of The Kirtland Garden Club of Higgins and Houghton Lake.

A Gardeners Prayer
May His countenance be revealed to you in the face of every flower and His love reflected in your every deed. May He brighten all of your days with gentle joys known only to the gardeners who look for miracles and find them so abundantly.
Let’s meet up in real life to share in the beauty of the natural world.
See the MEMBERSHIP page for information as to how to join us.
